Technician using a telescopic water-fed pole to clean rooftop solar panels overlooking the South Wales countryside
Solar Panel Cleaning

Keep every panel performing the way it was installed to work

Dust, pollen, bird droppings and general grime build up quietly and cost you generation. We clean roof-mounted and ground-mounted arrays across South Wales using purified water and soft-bristle equipment — safely, and without scratching the glass.

Why it matters

Dirty panels are quietly costing you generation

Even in a wet climate like ours, panels don't stay clean on their own. Rain washes off some surface dust, but it can't shift bird droppings, pollen film, soot, or the algae that creeps in around frames and low-pitch roofs.

Typical output lost to soiling on UK residential systems that haven't been cleaned recently — more on roofs near trees, farmland, or busy roads. A single clean can restore most of it straight away.

Our process

Cleaned safely, checked properly

Every property is different, so every job starts with a quick assessment of the panel type, roof pitch and safe access before we get to work.

01

Quick assessment

We confirm panel count, roof type and eaves height so the access method and price are right first time.

02

Purified-water clean

Soft-bristle brush heads and purified water lift dirt without scratching the glass or leaving mineral streaks.

03

Right access, safely

Ground-level telescopic poles where possible, or full scaffold access for higher and harder-to-reach roofs.

04

Final check

A visual once-over of every panel before we leave, so you can see the difference straight away.

Access & scaffolding

How we reach your panels

Access is the main thing that changes the price. Most low-rise homes are cleaned from ground level at no extra cost — taller or steeper roofs need scaffolding for safe, secure access.

No extra charge

Ground-level access

Used wherever it's safe to do so — typically bungalows, single-storey extensions, garages and ground-mounted arrays. Reached entirely with telescopic water-fed poles.

Access charge £0

Scaffold access

Needed where eaves height or roof pitch makes ground-pole access unsafe. Priced by eaves height, and includes full erection and take-down.

Eaves up to 4.5m £140
Eaves above 4.5m £195

Common questions

Solar panel cleaning FAQs

How often should solar panels be cleaned?

Once or twice a year is enough for most homes. Properties near trees, farmland, main roads, or with a lot of bird activity may benefit from cleaning more often.

Will cleaning damage my panels or affect my warranty?

No. We use soft-bristle brush heads designed for panel surfaces and purified water with no detergents, so there's nothing abrasive or corrosive involved.

Do you need access inside my house or loft?

No — cleaning is carried out entirely from outside, either from ground level with a telescopic pole or from scaffolding where needed.

I don't know my eaves height — what should I do?

Just choose "ground level" in the calculator for a starting estimate. We'll confirm the correct access option when we arrange your visit, and let you know before any work begins if the price changes.

Do you clean ground-mounted arrays too?

Yes — ground-mounted panels are cleaned the same way as low-rise roofs, from ground level with a telescopic pole, with no scaffold charge.
